It isn't hugely in-depth but it's enjoyable.Tails' vehicle has three distinct appearances that depend on its mode: The stages are all trips down memory lane which integrate elements of SEGA's history in engaging ways, while the character roster is relatively eclectic and lively. The thing isn't particularly difficult but it doesn't need to be. It adds a layer of complexity, however small, to the otherwise straight-forward gameplay. Drifting is the core principle of the game's design, actually. There's also an all-star system which allows players to perform a powerful, character-specific move when they build up enough power by performing drifts and in-air tricks. It plays like a traditional kart racer, with power-ups and weapons dotted around the tracks. 'Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (2010)' is a kart racer featuring several characters from SEGA's back catalogue, including the likes of AiAi from 'Super Monkey Ball (2001)' and Amigo from 'Samba De Amigo (1999)' alongside the eponymous Sonic and several of his friends.
